Sweet and Sticky Riblets

My family loves ribs!  However, we couldn't afford to eat ribs all the time, so riblets are a great (and cheaper) option.  While I enjoy cooking every meal, I sometimes find I don't have enough time to spend prepping a meal and then spend an hour or two preparing it.  That's why I have a crock pot!  There is very little you can do to mess up a simple crock pot meal, so that's why recipes like this one, are great for beginner cooks.  For me, there is nothing better than a rib, or riblet, with a sticky sauce to go with it.  This recipe would go great for both ribs and riblets, and even short ribs!  We've even tried this recipe using chicken wings (which was equally as delicious!).

Sweet and Sticky Riblets

Riblets - 2 pounds

Seasoning for Riblets:
Salt and Pepper
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder

Ketchup - 1/4 c
Brown Sugar - 4 tbsp
Siracha Sauce - 2 tsp
Soy Sauce -  1/4 c
Worcestershire Sauce - 1 tbsp
Honey - 2 tbsp
Rice Wine (or red wine) Vinegar - 1 tbsp
Pineapple Juice (or apple juice) - 1/8 c
Cornstarch - 2 tsp
Garlic - 2 cloves finely minced (or 1 tbsp pre-minced garlic)

Lightly season the riblets with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder.  Set aside.  Mix together all sauce ingredients, except garlic.  Once the cornstarch and brown sugar are completely mixed in, add the garlic.  Put the riblets into the crock pot, and pour the sauce over the top.  Cook on low for 6 hours, until the meat is tender, and the sauce becomes thick and sticky.
